On June 20, in the 2021 League of Legends Champions Korea Summer Split, Hanwha Life Esports finally collected their first win of the season by defeating Fredit BRION 2-1. Game 3 was Jeong “Chovy” Ji-hoon's 300th LCK game of his career. After the match, Chovy sat with the press for a chat.
Congratulations on the win. How do you feel?
We haven’t won in a long time. I’m relieved that we stopped our losing streak.
The start of the summer season was bad. What do you think the reason was?
There are several reasons — it’s hard to describe here.
Your performance during the spring was amazing. Do you think your form isn’t as good as the spring season?
I surely wasn’t able to show the performance I showed earlier. I didn’t play that well today either. I do feel that my form isn’t as good as before, but I believe that I could bring it back up very soon.
What kind of change did the team attempt to break the losing streak?
We focused on changing the team atmosphere.
You’re always compared to other great mid laners like ShowMaker or Faker. Recently, ShowMaker has been playing as the bot laner. What do you think would happen if you were to go to a different lane?
I believe I would play quite well whatever lane I go to.
The fans would have wanted your win more than anybody. Any comments to them?
Although we had a bad start this summer, there’s still a long way to go. We’ll do better in the remaining games.
