Twitch streamers Amouranth and Indiefox were banned Friday evening, after hosting highly suggestive ASMR streams on Friday. Many complained the controversial broadcasts were overly sexual content and violated Twitch's ban on sexually explicit content. Twitch agreed and brought down the ban hammer on the two faces of the burgeoning ASMR meta on Twitch.
Over the past few weeks, Amouranth and Indie fox have pushed the envelope on sexy Twitch ASMR streams to a whole new level. They engaged in a variety of increasingly sexual forms of ASMR on their streams, including licking the mics, whispering, and other sexually suggestive behaviors.
Sexually suggestive content is banned in Twitch's terms of service. With the banns, Twitch sent a message that overly suggestive ASMR streamers will be considered a violation of their TOS going forward. Twitch's decision could pump the breaks on the new suggestive ASMR subcategory.
Before becoming the face of sexy ASMR on Twitch, Amouranth was a part of the equally controversial "hot tub meta" that took hold of Twitch earlier this year. Amouranth landed in Ban Jail back in May as a result of her hot tub streams. The "hot tub meta" eventually materialized into its own category on Twitch.
Both Amouranth and Indiefoxx took the news of Friday's ban well, with Indiefoxx making jokes on Twitter and Amouranth promoting her onlyfans.
It is unclear as of now how long the bans on the streamers will last.
