After his first season in the LEC, Javier "Elyoya" Batalla has become the LEC Rookie of the Split.
The 21-year-old was able to help MAD Lions defeat veteran squads like Rogue and G2 Esports thanks to his ability to dominate opponents early on.
He also showed off a lot of unmatched aggression that kept his team ahead throughout the game. The jungle had the second-most kills and the second-highest KDA for his role. Elyoya also boasted the highest kill participation percentage for a jungle in the LEC.
Elyoya is also considered very flexible. He played 11 champions throughout the Spring Split. This is definitely impressive for someone new to the LEC stage.
SK Gaming's Erik "Treatz" Wessen came in second for Rookie of the Split. The support player competed with TSM last year but only played in eight out of 18 matches. That's 44% of the regular season matches, which is below the 50% that still allows a player to qualify for the Rookie of the Split award.
