T1 manages to find their revenge victory against KT in round 2.
On Mar. 6th, day 32 of the 2021 LCK Spring split took place. In the much-anticipated ‘Telecom Derby’ between T1 and kt Rolster, T1 managed to defeat KT with a set score of 2-0.
The Player of the Game (PoG) went to the bot laner for T1, Park “Teddy” Jin-seong, for his performance on Aphelios. After winning his lane matchup, he was able to grow exponentially by getting two kills during the first dragon teamfight. T1 was able to push their advantages through their bot lane, eventually choking KT out and leading the series 1-0.
Game 2 was very back and forth. Despite KT getting an early advantage, they weren’t able to push their advantages hard enough. This gave enough time for T1 to scale, where they started to win teamfights in the mid-game. Lee “Clozer” Ju-hyeon, who was named PoG for game 2, was able to dominate the Summoner’s Rift on Zoe, eventually destroying KT’s nexus to close out the series 2-0.
Meanwhile, in the first series of the day, DWG KIA continued their dominance, as they defeated Afreeca Freecs 2-0 and extended their win-streak to 10 matches. In game 1, the top laner for AF, Kim “Kiin” Gi-in, picked Nasus, which marked his return to the LCK after 980 days of absence. However, Nasus was not enough to defeat the 2020 World champions, as DWG KIA managed to outclass their opponents..
In game 2, DWG KIA earned massive advantages right from the get-go. After Kim “Canyon” Geon-bu’s Hecarim got an early double kill in the bot lane, he became an unstoppable force that dominated the Rift. With such a massive lead early on, AF was rendered helpless, and DWG KIA closed out the series 2-0.
