Ruler offers his thoughts in the wake of SSG's sweep over C9

Jaehyuk "Ruler" Park is one of the newest faces to the League of Legends scene, having only made his professional debut this spring and his LCK debut this summer. Inven caught up with Ruler in the wake of Samsung Galaxy's 3-0 sweep over Cloud9 to advance to the 2016 League of Legends World Championship Semifinals.

Your Worlds performance so far has been brilliant. How did you prepare?

We always made sure that we had enough sleep every day - I think it was a pretty good idea. We did have some jetlag issues upon arrival, but now are used to the time zone differences. We are in good condition and I think our training is finally paying off.

Your play was extremely confident today. Forward Flashes, tower dives...

I think that's all because my teammates did so well. When I felt that it was okay for me to dive, I jumped in right away, and it kept ending well thanks to my teammates' backup. It was all them.

C9's botlane had the upper hand in early on in Game 3. How exactly did you turn it around?

We lost our tower too early, so had to freeze lane and get as much CS as possible. When we saw Sneaky and Smoothie show up top, we laneswapped as well so that we could continue to contain them. We thought it would cover up for our early losses, and I think it worked out.

Yongin "CoreJJ" Jo also played very well today, especially on Tahm Kench. How do you feel about CoreJJ as your laning partner?

We had a rough start in the beginning, but as time passed by we became friends and got used to playing with each other. Things are going really smooth for us now, needless to mention how good of a support he is. I think the best way to establish teamwork between botlane partners is to become friends and spend a lot of time together.

Does that mean your best friend in the team is CoreJJ?

I guess so, although I'm not sure how he would answer the question. [laughs]

You are already set for the semifinals; who do you expect to be your opponent?

H2K. I think they are more experienced and have better strategy.

Any last words?

Thank you so much for cheering for us. We promise to come up big with brilliant plays and get results!
