At long last, the visa of Counter Logic Gaming jungler Mads "Broxah" Brock-Pedersen has been approved. Broxah took to Twitter to share the news with palpable elation:
Broxah was the last starter in the 2021 League of Legends Championship Series to be stuck in visa purgatory, and has missed the entire LCS Lock In and the first six games of the LCS Spring Split. The Danish jungler also had visa issues in his North American season on Team LIquid's 2020 roster.
Counter Logic Gaming Academy jungler Raymond "Griffin" Griffin has been starting in the LCS in place of Broxah thus far, but the team has struggled this season. The team was forced to play without top laner Finn "Finn" Wiestål in the LCS Lock In, and was forced to emergency substitute Colin "Solo" Earnest for the tournament, but to no avail. CLG was eliminated as the last place team in Group A.
Since Finn's arrival, and even moreso since the promotion of CLG Academy mid laner Alexey "rjs" Zatorski, CLG has had solid early games, but have only managed to convert a single win in the team's most recent match against Golden Guardians.
Fortunately for CLG, Broxah's visa issues will impact the team's overall record less due to the 2021 format essentially merging the LCS Spring Split and LCS Summer Split together. If CLG can continue to build upon the improvements shown against Golden Guardians last weekend and hit the ground running upon Broxah's arrival in Los Angeles, it could be its turnaround point of the spring.
No date has been confirmed for Broxah's arrival in the United States. This story will continue to be updated as more information becomes available.
