Four days of the 2021 League of Legends Championship Series Spring Split have been completed, and at 4-0, 100 Thieves holds sole possession of 1st place. Following its top 4 finish in the 2021 LCS Lock In, 100 Thieves has started the Spring Split by winning its first four games against Evil Geniuses, Counter Logic Gaming, Dignitas, and FlyQuest. 100 Thieves plays Cloud9 tomorrow, the latter of whom, at 3-1, can tie 100 Thieves for first place with a win in the aforementioned faceoff.
Since joining the LCS with Golden Guardians at the start of the 2020 season, Closer has represented an opportunity for those looking to upgrade their respective careers from the Turkish Championship League to a major region.
Following 100 Thieves' triumph over FlyQuest, LCS broadcast interviewer Gabriella "LeTigress" Devia-Allen asked Closer about the globalization of the LCS through representation in the form of imports like FlyQuest's Latin American jungler Brandon Joel "Josedeodo" Villegas:
"To be honest, it just motivates me to see people talking about and saying good things about other junglers. Seeing people hyping other LCS junglers just makes it better when I crush them."
100 Thieves, who currently hold sole possession of 1st place in the 2021 LCS Spring Split, will defend its sole possession against Cloud9. Should the latter win, C9 will tie 100 for 1st place, but Closer is prepared for the ferocious approach of C9 jungler Robert "Blaber" Huang: "Blaber is definitely a good jungler, but hopefully it is going to be a great match for us tomorrow.
The last time 100 Thieves faced off against Cloud9 was in the semifinals of the 2021 LCS Lock In. 100 Thieves jumped out to a quick and convincing 2-0 lead before C9 regained its composure and reverse swept 100 Thieves to qualify for the finals against Team Liquid.
