Team Liquid are now the second team to advance to the LCS Lock In Finals after beating Evil Geniuses 3-0. They will meet Cloud9 on Sunday to crown the first-ever victor of the LCS Lock In and determine who is on top headed into the LCS Spring Split that starts next weekend. The winner will receive a lump of prize money and also have a check sent to a charity of their choice.
Whereas Cloud9 took down 100 Thieves in an exciting reverse sweep, Team Liquid never faltered in their series, never losing a nexus of their own. The series started off on an hour-long delay, with a visual bug showing up with a champion skin. After Riot fixed the issue, the games went underway, with Liquid clearly in control. The first game was fairly calm, but the series got a bit more hectic as it moved along.
Evil Geniuses got 26 kills throughout the series, a number Team Liquid eclipsed in just the third game on its own, racking up 30 kills in 25 minutes before closing out the series. Overall, Liquid only lost 8 turrets, while taking 29 of their own. While EG was considered one of the best looking teams during the Lock In group stage, Liquid stepped up in their Semifinals series and will be a menace for Cloud9 to handle.
The LCS Lock In concludes Sunday, Jan 31 at 1pm PST with the Finals between Liquid and Cloud9.
