Nongshim RedForce retrieved their force. Even against Fredit BRION who recently took down world champions DWG KIA, Nongshim RedForce was strong. Especially, bot laner Seo “deokdam” Dae-gil dealt explosive damage consistently and contributed to the team’s victory. After the match, deokdam joined Inven for an interview.

How do you feel about today’s win?

We were on a 2-game losing streak. I feel good that we were able to stop that with this win.

What was different from the games you lost?

Actually, we just did as we did before. I think we showed better performances because we were in good condition.

People are saying if deokdam doesn’t scale, NS can’t win. You got many nicknames as well like general deokdam.

It feels good that people are recognizing me. I really like the nickname general deokdam. It feels like I’m a great general.

Your teammates said it was unfortunate that you didn’t show what you were capable of. What do you think the reason was?

I was quite nervous since it was my first time in the LCK. Last year, I was much behind compared to other LCK bot laners in prowess, laning, or teamfight positioning. I think I’ve caught up with them now.

What did you do to make changes this year?

I practiced a lot in solo queue to bring up my laning ability. I also watched a lot of replays to improve my teamfight positioning. Other than that, I worked hard.

You’re duoing with Kellin this year. What changed as you’re going to the bot lane with him?

Kellin lanes well very aggressively. The bot duo’s laning got much stronger as he taught me several things as well, so I was able to play more aggressively in the games as well.

Last year, the ADCs were mainly Caitlyn, Ashe, or Jhin. This year, it’s mostly Kai’Sa and Samira.

I like the current meta where Kai’Sa and Samira appear. I enjoy fighting while I go in. These champions have more stability since they could play aggressively because they have an escape skill, so I could play more confidently.

Your next match is against Afreeca Freecs. How are you planning to play?

I’ll keep showing good performances like now. I’d like to win bot in that match too, and go through the game based on that.

Bay did really well in mid lane today, so we were able to win. It was regretful that not many people mentioned him. Bay is a guy who works really hard. I hope everyone cheers for him.
