On Nov. 30th, Gen.G announced the acquisition of three new members to their LoL roster, Yu “Ggoong” Byeong-jun, Seong “Flawless” Yeon-joon, as their new coach and jungler respectively, and announced that Kim “Karis” Hong-jo, the mid laner from Gen.G's academy team, has been called up to the main roster.
Ggoong will be filling in the shoes of Gen.G’s former coaching staff, Yeo “TrAce” Chang-dong and Im “Tom” Jae-hyeon. Gen.G commented, “Formerly as an assistant coach with TES, Coach ‘Ggoong’ brings with him a great deal of expertise from TES integrating the various skill sets of some of the most accomplished players in the world into a singular team strategy. He will also be imperative in our endeavor to modernize our in-game approach by incorporating some of the best practices globally, which will allow our team to take their game to the next level.”
On the new jungler, Flawless, Gen.G commented, “The addition of ‘Flawless’, a talented player who has shown great potential in the LCK, will help round out our roster and give the team flexibility to broaden its horizons in terms of strategy and playstyle during the season.”
Lastly, on their new mid laner, Karis, “One of our most promising trainees from the Gen.G LoL Academy team, has been called up to join the Gen.G LoL team and we look forward to seeing his potential come to fruition on the LCK stage next season.”
