Luxury brands have jumped the bandwagon of collaborations with video game titles in hopes to attract new customers. Last year had us coveting goods from the Louis Vuitton x League of Legends collaboration, and Coach’s partnership with Michael B Jordan and Naruto. We can now add French accessories company, Longchamp to the list with their electrifying new leather goods collection. 

This past October Longchamp and The Pokémon Company partnered to celebrate the Paris Fashion Week with a special in-game item within Pokémon GO. A Longchamp x Pokémon motif backpack was available to outfit your Pokémon GO trainer.

That very backpack can be purchased in the real world as the official collection of accessories went on sale from Longchamp. The assortment of leather goods includes handbags, mini backpacks, travel bags, a keychain, a silk scarf, and a cell phone case. I hope you’ve been saving your pennies though because the cell phone case alone will set you back $80 with the most expensive item, with the travel bag going for $1,050.

Shoppers can select from a bold LONGCHAMP X POKÉMON print featuring Pikachu in different poses or if they prefer something more muted, a solid color bag with a debossed image of Pikachu. I will say it’s nice to see some new art of Pikachu being used, the different poses and stances are fun to see. I am disappointed however they didn’t incorporate more of the adorable graphic of Pikachu wearing the hat! Feels very reminiscent of Detective Pikachu, no?
