Today, Playstation announced that Scott would be joining the brand as a strategic creative partner. Additionally, we get a peek at what appears to be a collaboration between Scott’s “Cactus Jack” brand, Nike, and Playstation.
The video— primarily an homage to Maxell’s 1980 “Blown Away Guy” ad—shows Scott wearing the shoes as he sits down to game on the Playstation 5. The shoes are Dunk Lows with a reverse swoop and a Playstation logo on the heel. Since the video is in black and white, we have no clue as to what colorway the shoes may come in.
“I’m really looking forward to being able to showcase everything that Cactus Jack has worked on with Sony and the PlayStation team,” said Scott on the official Playstation Blog. “Most importantly I’m excited to see how the PlayStation fans and family respond, and I look forward to running some games with everybody very soon!”
Scott teased the making of this video nearly a month ago on his Instagram, showing his lap and the new Playstation 5 Dualshock controller. No sliver of the shoes could be seen then. In March, Scott also posted a picture holding the Nike x Playstation Air Force 1s, asking, “Who ready for the ps5?”
No stranger to gaming, Scott also performed in a Fortnite “concert” earlier this year. Part of the battle royale’s “Astronomical” event, an in-game representation of Scott towered above players and earned a reported 12.3 million viewers.
