UPDATE 12/7: Super Nintendo World, now slated to open February 4, 2021 at Universal Studios Japan, has released a new video previewing the park in all its glory. The majority of the flyover tour focuses on Bowser's Castle and the Mario Kart: Koopa's Challenge ride. You can get a first look at the fully constructed park here.

Original story:

Japanese news networks have been reporting on Super Nintendo World since Universal Studios Japan broke ground in June 2017, but now that the park is more or less complete, visuals of it in all its glory have been shared by reporters in forms of photo and flyover.

Super Nintendo World was scheduled to open just ahead of the 2020 Summer Olympics, but like the Olympics itself and pretty much everything else in Osaka, delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic has delayed its opening until January 2021.

The photos show exhibits and structure strikingly similar to the digital rendering previously shown during construction. Both rides confirmed for Super Nintendo World thus far are within the realm of the Mushroom Kingdom — the location of nearly all games in Nintendo's Mario/Super Mario franchise — one being Yoshi-themed and one based around popular racing series Mario Kart.

Throughout the park, various iconic sights and scenes from Mushroom Kingdom like Warp Pipes, Piranha Plants and even a Thwomp can be seen within the park. The entire park looks like one giant level of a classic Mario platformer, and iconic in-game locations like Bowser's Castle have been worked into the park's layout.

Super Nintendo World is set to open within Universal Studios Japan in January 2021, but over the next few years, Universal Studios will be developing other versions of the park for its other locations in Los Angeles, Orlando, and Singapore.

There is no set timeline for the new parks since Osaka's park hasn't even opened yet, but the window for Super Nintendo World to come to Universal Studios Hollywood, Universal Studios Orlando, and Universal Studios Singapore between the opening of the first park in Osaka and 2024. More photos taken from the news of Super Nintendo World as the finishing touches are added before opening can be viewed below.
