The second matchup of the 12th day of Overwatch APEX Season 2 ended in RunAway’s victory over Fnatic; thus all 8 teams for the quarterfinals have been determined.
Lunatic Hai and EnvyUs are in Group A and will be playing against each other on March 3rd. “We did not do very well in the quarterfinals last time,” said Ryujehong of Lunatic Hai, “but we will not repeat the same mistakes again.” Taimou of EnVyUs responded, “I wanted to play against Lunatic Hai in the finals. I believe we can win against them if our fans continue to cheer for us.”
Kris of Meta Athena chose the first matchup in Group B, which means that they will be playing against AF Blue. Kris showed his strong confidence on Meta’s victory by saying “We have achieved 19 wins in a row so far, and will achieve our 20th victory of the Season very soon.” ArHan of AF Blue also showed a strong confidence on their victory. In response to Kris, ArHan said, “I think we will be playing against Lunatic Hai in the finals.”
Meanwhile, Kongdoo Uncia chose to play against RunAway, avoiding the battle between sister teams. However, DNCE of KD Uncia said that he actually wanted to play against Uncia’s sister team, KD Panthera. “I wanted to play against KD Panthera,” he added, “because we’ve lost so many times against Panthera and I wanted to win this time.” On the other hand, KoX of RunAway was happy with the result. “We prepared a secret weapon against KD Uncia,” said KoX, “and I’d like to try our new weapon very soon.”
The remaining two teams, LW Blue and KD Panthera, will be playing against each other. Wakawaka of KD Panthera assured the team’s victory by saying “if we put our best efforts into it, we can win it”, while Gambler of LW Blue also expressed a strong determination to win the next match.
The quarterfinals will begin with the matchup between Lunatic Hai and EnVyUs on March 3rd, Friday(KST).
