Team Liquid is proud to announce their new esports roster for VALORANT, the new tactical shooter made by Riot Games. The five-man roster consists of Adam "ec1s" Eccles, Dom "soulcas" Sulcas, James "Kryptix" Affleck, Travis "L1NK" Mendoza and Adil "ScreaM" Benrlitom. In their previous incarnation as fish123, the five-stack placed second at the WePlay! VALORANT Invitational (part of the ongoing VALORANT Ignition Series) and achieved first-place finishes at a bevy of smaller tournaments.
Ec1s, 20, is a former CS:GO entry fragger who retired from the game in April in order to pursue competitive VALORANT full-time. The England native mains Omen and Breach, agents that mesh well with his in-game entry assignments.
Soulcas, 20, is a former CS:GO rifler from England who played with ec1s on London Esports and Fierce Esports from 2018-2019. Like ec1s, soulcas retired from CS:GO in April to pursue competitive VALORANT full-time, and currently mains Sova and Raze.
Kryptix, 25, is a former CS:GO rifler who left behind a seven-year career to pursue competitive VALORANT full-time. Since switching games, Kryptix has played virtually every tournament match as Cypher.
L1NK, 21, is a former CS:GO player from England who was a teammate of ec1s while on Vexed Gaming in 2019. Like his teammates, L1NK switched from CS:GO to VALORANT in April 2020 and now mains Sage.
ScreaM, 26, left behind a 9-year Counter-Strike career that spanned Source and Global Offensive to explore competitive VALORANT. After starting his VALORANT career as a member of Prodigy, ScreaM joined fish123 in June as a Reyna and Breach player. Belgian by way of Morocco, the “Headshot Machine” is the only non-Brit on the roster.
Team Liquid’s VALORANT roster will compete in the European region, and be one of the first teams to practice regularly at the new Alienware Training Facility in Utrecht that opens later this year. Their former fish123 coach, Sliggy, will remain with the team, donning the Liquid gear alongside them.
Victor Goossens, Co-CEO of Team Liquid, said: “With Riot Games’ proven track record of supporting League of Legends, I expect VALORANT to continue its exponential rise towards becoming a Tier 1 esport. I’m incredibly excited for Team Liquid to enter this vibrant new scene, and to support this talented group of players. Fish123 was already one of the top teams in the world before donning the Liquid colors, and together, with our resources, we’ll be unstoppable.”
