On July 12th (KST), in the 2020 League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) Summer Split, T1 faced Team Dynamics and Gen.G played Hanwha Life Esports.
In game 1 of T1 vs Team Dynamics, Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok’s Corki was explosive, dealing massive damage in all the teamfights. Although Team Dynamics won the first big teamfight, T1 didn’t fall down. Both Rift Heralds went to Team Dynamics but T1 controlled the dragon better and secured the Infernal Dragon’s soul. Afterward, T1 had no trouble in destroying Team Dynamics’ Nexus.
Team Dynamics controlled game 2 well. They collected the dragons against T1 who played passively and took the Infernal Dragon's soul at the 21-minute mark. The first blood came quite late, as Team Dynamics dove top lane with the Rift Herald. Through that benefit, Team Dynamics started to snowball. They were well ahead at the fourth dragon fight where Lee "Kuzan" Seong-hyeok's Zoe and Lee "Rich" Jae-won's Lucian pushed away T1's champions. The effect of the soul was massive. Rich collected a solo kill and Team Dynamics was able to secure Baron. At this point, the difference was too big for T1 to catch up and Team Dynamics was able to tie the game.
Choi “Ellim” El-lim was substituted in for Moon “Cuzz” Woo-chan in the third game. T1 selected the Aphelios-Thresh bot lane for the third time this day. This game was the longest game of this season in the LCK as the game seesawed throughout 50 minutes. It tilted towards Team Dynamics as they secured the Infernal Dragon’s soul, again. At the Elder Dragon fight, the game was almost turned around as Park “Teddy” Jin-seong’s Aphelios dealt massive damage with the support of Lulu. However, Team Dynamics was able to secure the second Elder Dragon and Aphelios was killed after being trapped in Bard’s ultimate. As of that fight, the game was over. Team Dynamics collected their fourth win of the season.
The second match was between Gen.G and Hanwha Life Esports. The first game was extremely one-sided. Except for a small Arcane Shift mistake from Park "Ruler" Jae-hyeok, Gen.G completely dominated the game. Hanwha Life Esports wasn't able to do much and had to step backward. It didn't take long for Gen.G to end the game as they destroyed Hanwha Life Esports' Nexus in 26 minutes.
Hanwha Life Esports had a good start as they took first blood, but they gave up two kills in bot lane as they overextended. Starting from mid-game, Gen.G's macro and concentration started to shine. They didn't allow much vision. In that situation, Hanwha Life Esports attempted to sneak Baron. Gen.G wasn't able to prevent it as Hanwha Life Esports took Baron and won the teamfight. However, while pushing mid, Hanwha Life Esports gave up two kills and allowed Gen.G to counter. After another overextend from Hanwha Life Esports, Gen.G scored an Ace and closed the game.
