Riot Games is introducing a new line of skins for League of Legends that will soon be available on the PBE. The Spirit Blossom set includes a skin for Teemo, Vayne, Yasuo, Thresh, a Prestige Edition for Spirit Blossom Teemo, and lastly, the new champion, Lillia.
Riot Games teased what the skins would look like on Summoner's Rift via the League of Legends Twitter account. Lillia, who was just recently revealed as the newest champion in LoL, was not part of the preview, though the splash art for her Spirit Blossom skin has been revealed.
The Spirit Blossom skin line is the newest set of cosmetics to come to League of Legends, and have already been deemed as 'anime-inspired' within the community due to the clear inspiration of the cherry blossom, which most famously grows on sakura trees in Japan. The skin line also took a few creative leaps, giving Support champion staple Thresh actual flesh for the first time despite several cosmetic re-imaginings throughout past seasons.
The new skin line was unveiled at the recent online Anime Expo Lite during a panel on the ‘History of Skin Thematics in LoL’, in which the studio talked about the game’s anime-style cosmetic offerings, a trend that has become more and more frequent over the years and in dramatic increase following the success of Riot's K/DA skin line that was released during the 2018 League of Legends World Championship.
The Spirit Blossom skin splash arts have also been revealed on the Riot Games Weibo account.
and will be made available as part of League of Legends Patch 10.14 which goes live later this week. More information about Patch 10.14 is available here.
UPDATE 7/21: The rest of the Spirit Blossom skin sprites, excluding the upcoming Lillia, have been revealed via Twitter. The 150th champion to join League of Legends, Yone, is also likely to have a Spirit Blossom skin upon release.
