On the 5th (KST), day 15 of the 2020 LCK Summer split took place at LoL Park. After game 1 of the series between kt Rolster and Afreeca Freecs, the host of the LCK analyst desk, Lee Jeong-jyun, revealed that PawN, the retired pro who’s now part of the analyst desk, was temporarily removed from broadcast due to signs of fever.
Because of the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic, many of the competitive LoL leagues around the world are either being held in an online format, or without spectators. Currently, the LCK is being held without spectators, and for personnel involved in the league, such as the players, the casters, the press, and any other personnel involved in the LCK must undergo various procedures to prevent an outbreak happening at LoL Park, some of which involves a temperature check and filling out a short questionnaire upon entrance to LoL Park.
Riot has yet to provide an official statement on PawN’s condition. If tested positive, many can expect LCK to once again switch to an online format, just as it did during round 2 of the 2020 LCK Spring split.
