Esports organization NRG dropped professional Smash Bros Ultimate player and content creator, Nairoby "Nairo" Quezada amidst sexual misconduct from a TwitLonger by another pro Smash player, Zack "CaptainZack" Lauth.
CaptainZack's allegation surrounds other numerous sexual allegations in the Smash community like D'Ron "D1" Maingrette, Jason "ANTi" Bates, and Richard "Keitaro" King.
The allegations came to light when CaptainZack made the following tweet:
The TwitLonger detailed CaptainZack's first sexual encounter with Nairo that contained Discord screenshots of his encounter. CaptainZack went on to say that Nairo and his brother consistently sent him money, for at least $2000, to keep quiet.
Following the tweet, Nairo deleted his Twitter temporarily and CaptainZack gained support from prominent figures in the Smash community like Ezra "Samsora" Morris.
This morning, NRG made the decision to drop Nairo from the team following CaptainZack's tweet.
After NRG's tweet, Nairo reinstated his Twitter to make the following statement:
Nairo was with NRG since 2016 and stayed with the team for nearly four years before the allegation. Nairo's last big achievement in Smash Bros Ultimate was winning Mainstage by defeating Leonardo "MkLeo" Lopez Perez. As of now, there is no statement from Nairo regarding his future in the Smash Bros scene.
