On the 1st of July (KST), T1 played DAMWON Gaming and Gen.G played SANDBOX Gaming in the 2020 League of Legends Champions Korea Summer Split.
There weren’t many fights involved in the first game between T1 and DAMWON Gaming. It was T1 who took the main objectives in the early game as DAMWON Gaming picked Ezreal. DAMWON Gaming started to strike back from the third dragon. Although they lost the first big teamfight, they were able to win the remaining fights. After securing Baron, DAMWON Gaming pushed through and destroyed T1’s Nexus.
In Game 2, Heo "ShowMaker" Su's Syndra did everything. From taking lane priority to stealing Baron, ShowMaker was there when his team needed him. It was T1 who took the Cloud Dragon's soul, but DAMWON Gaming took the Elder Dragon buff. After that, it was a breeze for DAMWON Gaming and they were able to shut out T1.
SANDBOX Gaming was no match for Gen.G. Gen.G pounded on SANDBOX Gaming like a sandbag throughout the two games. In Game 1, Gen.G didn’t fall behind the whole game, having priority in all lanes. They took four consecutive dragons and the global gold difference at the end was 16.5K. It wasn’t much different in the second game as the kill score was 9:26 in Gen.G’s favor. The second game ended in 27 minutes.
