Riot Games announced on the morning of May 21st, their new tactical shooter, VALORANT, will launch on June 2nd globally. The Closed Beta has been available for NA and EU since April 7th, and in Korea and Brazil for the last few weeks. Recently, they secured a trademark in China as well. In a live announcement, they said June 2nd was always their plan for the full launch, but that there was cause for concern due to the quarantine and working from home. However, despite the restrictions, they've been impressed with the Closed Beta and feel confident in their original launch date.
On the launch, they promise new content that hasn't been a part of the Closed Beta so far. There will be one new agent released, making a total of 11. (There were originally 12 planned, but one agent needs more time before shipping due to work restrictions.) There will also be one new map made available, as well as an additional game mode, more skins, and other content. The new mode's purpose is to be shorter and a little less high strung compared to the regular Best-of-25.
