Riot Games has announced a global marathon live stream to raise funds for COVID-19, highlighting the League of Legends community members. The broadcast will feature three days of a variety of content from several regions around the world, including a cross-league competition.
League of Legends fans will be able to catch the Mid-Season Streamathon from 5 pm PDT on May 29 until May 31. The broadcast will have a non-stop programming of over 48 hours and will exhibit content catering to several regions. The European region will feature a continental battle of teams, the LPL and the LCK will clash in a Mid-Season Cup showdown, and community figures like Yoda and Kami will represent CBLoL in an influencer battle.
The event will support the relief efforts for COVID-19 victims across the world, having the support of partners like Mastercard, Red Bull, Secretlab, and State Farm. Fans will be able to donate to support nonprofit organizations, being distributed by the Riot Games Social Impact Fund. Riot Games has donated $4.5 million worldwide to the coronavirus pandemic relief.
The Mid-Season Streamathon will air on watch.lolesports.com through regional channels, in several different languages.
