On the 18th (KST), Griffin announced that Kim “Wadid” Bae-in joined their League of Legends roster as their newest Support player. With this newest addition to the team, Griffin looks to fortify their roster as they head into the LCK Relegations tournament, something that will be held for the last time, as the league will be preparing to make long-term partnerships (franchising) by 2021.
This split, Griffin did not look like the ever-dominant team that they were in their past. They were in last places with a 5-13 record in the standings. Wadid, on the other hand, took some time off as a player in the scene to provide both English and Korean commentary in the LCK. Wadid commented via Twitter that he hopes to bring ‘Bot Lane Kingdom’ into the Korean competitive scene, and looked confident as the team was heading into the Relegations tournament.
