In the 2020 League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) Spring Split on the 11th, DragonX defeated DAMWON Gaming 2-1 and kt Rolster shut out T1 2-0. In the match between DragonX and DAMWON Gaming, each team shared a complete victory in the first two games. In Game 1, DragonX jungler Hong “Pyosik” Chang-hyeon’s Grave’s performance was very impressive, as he pushed ahead from early in the game. DragonX picked Nami in Game 2, along with Jeong “Chovy” Ji-hoon’s first Azir pick in his career in the LCK. However, they weren’t very effective as DAMWON struck back strongly.
Game 3 ended in a dramatic turnaround by DragonX. DAMWON Gaming took the lead after having big teamfight wins. When DragonX attempted to slay Baron, DAMWON Gaming tried to go for a backdoor, but they were stopped with only 26 left on the Nexus. After securing an Ace, DragonX went straight through DAMWON’s base to destroy the Nexus on the opposite side.
The second match was the telecom derby between T1 and kt Rolster. Game 1 was dominated by kt Rolster. As they took the initiative early in the game starting from the first blood during the invade phase, KT shook T1 by macro around the dragon. After securing the Cloud dragon soul, KT also secured the Baron buff and stepped ahead in the scoreboard without showing a crack.
The following game also went in KT’s favor. Kim “bonO” Gi-beom’s Jarvan IV had an amazing performance with 100% kill participation while Kim “Aiming” Ha-ram’s Miss Fortune dealt massive damage. T1 had a chance to turn the game around as KT made a critical mistake in the late game, but KT had a big win in the following teamfight and closed the game for a 2-0 victory.
