Los Angeles Valiant, Overwatch League franchise of Immortals Gaming Club, has rebranded ahead of the 2020 OWL season. The league’s third season will take the league global, with each franchise hosting homestands in their respective cities throughout the season. The LA Valiant will trade out its green and yellow jerseys for a new Southern California inspired blue and gold thread.
The Valiant are digging in as representatives of Los Angeles. The city of LA, and the greater Southern California region, is known for its blue skies and golden sun and now our players and branding reflect that image. The Valiant published a video to their social media platforms going further in depth behind the idea for the 2020 rebrand, as well as the accompanying merchandise rollout for fans looking to rock the most modern look to support their favorite OWL team.
Because Blizzard Entertainment has offered custom franchise in-game skins for every franchise in Overwatch League, the colors for all in-game hero skins for the LA Valiant have been updated both for the professional team itself as well as fans and players who have previously downloaded the skins for their own accounts.
The LA Valiant enjoyed a top 4 finish in the inaugural Overwatch League season, but suffered a sophomore slump in 2019 and missed out on the last 2019 OWL Playoffs play-in seed, finishing in 13th place behind Chengdu Hunters by a razor thin margin.
Before his retirement and move to broadcasting talent for OWL 2020, former Valiant Captain and Support Scott "Custa" Kennedy ranked the Valiant’s power level 14th among the 20 OWL teams.
The Los Angeles Valiant 2020 Overwatch League season begins in Dallas on the second weekend of February, and throughout the season, the franchise is scheduled to host two homestands at The Novo at LA Live, first on the weekend of April 18-19, and again from August 8-9.
