After visa issues with their previous Academy top lane signing, Tom "Rodov" Rodov, Dignitas has signed former LCS top laner, Samson "Lourlo" Jackson. Dignitas is now only lacking a support player for their Academy roster, signing a bunch of industry veterans for the rest. They brought in Matthew "Akaadian" Higginbotham for jungle, Tanner "Damonte" Damonte returned to the org to play mid, and Kim "Fenix" Jae-hun role swapped to be the Academy bot laner.
Lourlo was most recently on Echo Fox, sharing time on the main roster along with Colin "Solo" Earnest, and before that played on Golden Guardians' first roster in 2018. While it's unlikely Lourlo can contest for a spot in the LCS roster, overtaking Dignitas' main star, Heo "Huni" Seung-hoon, the official announcement does not limit him to Academy. It's possible Dignitas are keeping their options open for swaps up and down, following a strategy used almost exclusively by OpTic (and Cloud9 for 2018 Summer).
Whatever Dignitas have in store, we'll just have to wait and see. Until then, stay tuned for more news on their support and other off-season announcements. And find more of our content here and on our Twitter below.
